Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.
Hours are published for 1 day a week. The most common schedule is 11 AM–10 PM. Note that it does not open on Wednesday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Yang Di Chun BBQ at (315) 991-4619; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is yangdichun.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Syracuse is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Syracuse follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Very disappointing experience. The food itself was actually good, and that’s the only positive I can give. The biggest issue was the service. It was slow, inattentive, and nowhere near the level that would justify what happened at the end of the meal. On top of that, the restaurant did not feel clean. There was grease and oil residue on the seats and even on parts of the table, which made the dining experience uncomfortable. The worst part was discovering an automatic 18% service charge on the bill, even though there were only two of us. It was not clearly disclosed beforehand. If a restaurant is going to add a mandatory 18% service fee, customers should be informed before ordering or have it prominently stated on the menu. Finding out only when the bill arrives is frustrating and feels misleading. Good food alone cannot make up for poor service, cleanliness issues, and unexpected mandatory charges. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.

We ordered five dishes and drinks. One is dry pot style, I told server make it less spicy, but end up it was super spicy- can’t even eat it. One of the cold dishes, you can taste it has a lot of MSG wrapped around each piece of veggies. We didn’t eat it. And another meat dish, we found it has a metal in it. I told the server to see if we can change to different dish, but he said its metal was from when they cleaning the pot. That’s not dirty. So no change for the dish. Also this dish meat tastes dry and tough. Overall food qualities wasn’t good, not like before. Felt like just wasted money to go there, didn’t enjoy the food at all.

Highly recommend the barbecue beef skewer—absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was great overall. The only downside was the sautéed cabbage, which was very salty. It seemed like it may have been an accident because the flavor itself was actually really good. I mentioned it to the staff, and they were very accommodating and removed it from our bill, which I appreciated. Great service and great food—I’ll definitely be back!

A rare Northeastern Chinese Korean restaurant. The owner is ethnically Korean, and both the Korean dishes and the Northeastern Chinese dishes are done exceptionally well.

Let’s get this out of the way: the location is suspicious as hell. Smack dab in what looks like the forgotten roadside of Erie Blvd, you might wonder if you’re walking into a trap, or at least a 黑店 straight out of black myth wukong. The building looks like it hosted a buffet in 2005 and hasn’t been dusted since. Inside? A time capsule of Northeast Chinese aesthetic: shiny brick walls, plastic plants, plastic lobsters in blue tanks, and posters of spicy dishes staring at you like propaganda. Booths give you the privacy of a mafia negotiation—fitting, given our waiter looked like a retired bodyguard from Flushing: slicked-back hair, big chin, tanned like a Hainan beach bum. But plot twist: he was incredibly kind, full of recommendations, and proudly announced he had just moved upstate from Queens. ⸻ Now, the food. Oh, the food. Spare Ribs with Potato and String Beans: This was the crown jewel. Hearty chunks of bone-in pork, tender but still chewy, steeped in a Northeast-style broth. Surrounding them were planks of golden fried potato, sweet corn, and green chili peppers swimming in umami and mild spice. Like a Manchurian winter stew but kissed with southern flair. Worth the price
